Two from the yard

Two images taken today, still trying to get used to the lens. I either get too little depth of field or shake...and I know I should use my mono or tripod, but I thought I'd try for some handheld.

I bet this is the little critter that gave me two lovely bites last night!

Excellent use of DOF, and I love the colours! The second one looks so delicate... are they the same type of flowers?

Thanks, yes they are from the same plant. There was no post processing needed which I was surprised at, I thought I would have to boost the saturation but came out just nice.

Well, THESE two do NOT show that you were having difficulty with DOF and/or shake ... the first is excellently sharp - but don't do that little hopper wrong in assuming he bit you. I doubt these ones bite... And I love the colour as it came out in that first. Yes, you are right: this one is in no need at all for any saturation boost. Everything's right THERE.
