after re looking, I think the problem with 1 is that the water is not strong enough to hold the eye, my eyes keep going to the stupid trees.


I just realized I posted all this in nature instead of landscapes. oops. I fail.

First impressions: The first one would appear to be oversharpened as you have suggested. I can see what appear to be "sharpening artefacts in the rocks. The second one is not too bad, but it doesn't show me enough of the main subject, which, I presume, is the falls. My 0.02¢ FWIW.

Yeah, the bottom one I would have loved more...but rocks prohibited. I know there has to be a good shot in there somewhere. Next time I go back I'm bringing the wide angle and waders...I'll find the angle. lol
