Here are two of my recent shots. I like them but I would love to hear how I can improve this kind of shots.

The first one shows the gradient, but little else. I think if the photograph had zeroed in on a subject, then the gradient will still be there, in addition to something else. The gradient is not "subject enough" by itself.

#2 is much better, with varying lines and texture.

Altho there is a major piece of sensor dust.
The contrails are a bit distracting.

I like the 2nd one a lot but that spot at the top is very distracting as is the streak from the plane. I think it would be better without that. I agree with Designer on #1.
