Two Portraits-opinions please!

I took these yesterday for a friend. I was actually very happy with them. Wanted to share and get others opinions. Thank you!

#1 better. #2 could be warmer and tighter.

Might be me, i have a bad headache, but did you miss focus on the 1st one. Further eye looks OOF. The flowers look sharper than the eye

I did apply a haze action in ps for an overall softer feel. But the left eye(her right) does look more in focus

On the whole, I think these are quite lovely.
If you crop these to 4 x 5, print them on watercolor paper, they will be forever keepsakes.

Now there's a great comment and suggestion!!! I think the second one would benefit from just a bit more space above the top of her head. These are a bit 'soft', yes, but on watercolor paper and viewed as wall art, that would not be a problem.

I do think the second is a bit too much off center and so, when cropping it, I would add the 1/4 inch that goes under the frame on that side to move her head more to the center.

I think these are beautiful. The first one is my favourite, maybe if the top of her head wasn't chopped I'd be even more in love with it, but it is a gorgeous shot.

Thank you all for the suggestions and compliments. I am slowly getting better at using my 85mm 1.2 lens and focusing. I rarely try to stop all the way down(although I did in the first one), but I figured the more I use it , the more I will get used to it.

Not bad, but the soft eyes, and head chop bug me a little in the first one.

The soft eyes bug me too. I'd probably struggle with deciding whether to keep this or not.

Having said that, I really like the suggestion of printing this on watercolor paper. What a fantastic way to salvage an otherwise beautiful portrait.

Ok... this gets really subjective because, let's face it, these are beautiful photos of a darling young lady.

I really like the framing of #2. I might (mind you "might" does not mean "would" because probably I'd test this and then I might think better of it and change my mind) just add a touch of dodge to her face to give a tiny bit more glow or possibly a "weak" (and I do emphasize WEAK) vignette around the edges (people tend to overdo things.. if a little of something is "good" a LOT Of something is not necessarily "better".)

Back to #1... I really love the framing and (in both photos) I love the background. But I'm distracted by whatever it is she is resting her hand on in this photo. Is that her knee? At first I thought perhaps it was her shoulder but realized that's a seemingly odd angle if it's a shoulder. I'd like better focus on her eyes and would be very happy with a slight de-focus on the flowers... a "misty" filter effect would be pleasant. As you've shot this portrait in a horizontal/landscape orientation, I'd probably point the camera just slightly to the right to set her just left of center in the frame.

We are, somewhat, picking over nits here... these are beautiful photos.
