what I did:
-Switched to LAB colour mode and tweaked A + B channel in curves (fixes colour.)
-done it a few times.
-switched back to RGB
-duplicated layer, set to overlay, changed opacity to around 25%
-Used Auto colour (cs5) and auto tone (cs5) (work quite well...)
-Used onone focal point 2 to blur the background.
- duplicated image then sharpened it.
-added a mask to sharpened image, painted in only the areas I wanted sharper (eye, mouth and things like that.)
- saved.
I like this image and I can understand your attraction to it. The woman's gaze and the hint of a smile is very alluring. I like the warms tones and played that up a bit. I wished it were more vertical as well, but didn't do too much rotation because too much of the image would get lost. Anyway, here is my take.
