A quick dash when I went out to have a few words with them.

Meanwhile, above the long tailed tits were not put off their lunch!

Checking up on the visitors below.

Need a cat... or a pellet rifle!

Have two visiting dogs so the neighbours cat is not on patrol and the "Metior .22" needs a new "O" ring!

The problem is how to set traps or poison that is safe for birds and dogs.

Thing is... those critters are the ones who will survive the next asteroid hit on our planet, and will spawn (I think that word is appropriate) the next repopulation. Because the mammalian line that took over the planet more or less after the last blow did look like these creatures - not too fussy about where their next meal comes from, and almost impossible to eradicate by any means.

Get a piece of plastic or PVC pipe (say about 140mm Dia. and about .5 meters long. Lay it on the ground with the poison bait in the middle. Dogs wont fit... and birds typically won't go into a tube on the ground (most species at least). Of course, then you have Poisoned Rats that the dogs might eat...

Yup. I for one, bow before our rat overlords.

I have 4 cats weighing in at about 70 lbs total mass. I rent by the pound.

And does the wheelbarrow you need to cart them around in come included in the rental? ;)

Our two cats rid the yard of birds, mice, chipmunks and squirrels. They bring their 'offerings' to the back door two or three times a day. However, they have left the resident skunks, groundhogs and ravens in peace. When the little red tailed fox does its night time round they are both at the door wanting in.
