I am heading to Canada next week and was debating if I should rent a wide angle lens.

My current setup is:
Nikon D7200
Nikon 18-135 kit lens (Came with my original D80 and has ran well since)
Nikon 70-300 VR lens
Tamron 150-600 (renting for the trip)

I imagine I will be taking a lot of landscape shots, which is why I am curious to get some thoughts on also renting a wide angle lens?

Any suggests? Thanks!

Hmm, last time I was there ... shot widest @ 28mm with my film cameras.
It would have been nice to have wider ... if you do, make sure to get a CPL !!

It kinda seems like the 70-300 is overlap if you're going to carry the 18-135 and 150-600?

That said, if you're going to rent a wide angle, maybe drop the 18-135 and keep the 70-300 and 150-600?

I think you're covered for about 95% of the shots you will want to get - the other 5% might require something a little wider to get your "ideal" framing. If renting you may want to look at the Tokina 11-16 if available.

I would NEVER GO on a trip like thayt without a 70-200 or a 70-300 zoom, or an older, lighter, smaller manual focus lens, like the 80-200 f/4 Ai-S...to me, those longer lens lengths make landscapes really compelling. I am NOT a big fan of that wide-angle " everything tiny and faraway " look that we see so,so often these days now that uber-wide lenses are commonplace.

In big,m wide-open or mountainous landscapes, I find the tele-shots are more to my liking, so I woudl not consider trhe 70-300 overlap with the 18-135....135mm is just the start! I LOVE 180mm, 195mm, 210mm,240mm, and 300mm settings!
