Ok, so the feeler gauge didn't work. You can't get the pin's down due to the location of them. So, we took out the 4 screws (which you have to have a specialty tool for that you can't get at lowes or home depot) and were able to follow the directions from O|||||||O and remove it that way.

Thanks again for all your help. This forum is awesome! You guys saved me a lot of money today :)

Make sure the pin is working propperly before you put the flash back on. :sexywink:

I'm glad it worked without costing you $250!

We just got back from Chili's - right before we left I was googling it (it seems it's not an uncommon problem) - didn't have time to post before we left, trying to beat the rain, lol.. If you didn't have it fixed by the time we got back, I had a list of links ready to go. ;)

The general consensus from what I found was to remove the base and disassemble the pin assembly - so it turns out I gave the right advice.

From what I found, there also may or may not (depends on flash model - I didn't see anything about your flash specifically) be a little metal tab sticking out under the lock ring that you can use to manually lift the pin.

Drink a beer for me.

Good for you, but tell us......What caused it to be stuck on the camera?

Was the pin no longer connected to the lock lever?
