Upgrade Len?

Hi, I currently have a Canon 60D. I do portrait and mostly take any kind of photos. I want to upgrade my l lens price range around 800 and below. Right now I have the regular kit lens that comes with the camera and the 50mm f1.8. I don't know what to get and since I'm still kind of new to this I want to get some help. Please Help me. Thanks

For that price range I would recommended the 70-200mm f/4L and a speedlite if you don't have one.

The Tamron 70-200 F/2.8 can be had for under 800 aswell:
