I did a search here, and don't even know if this is the right place to ask but, are there any places/links that sell good used lenses for dslr's? I'm kind of on a tight budget and only have a couple hundred to spend. I have the d3100. Thanks.

Craigslist and pawn shops is how I get mine. A lot of times a pawn shop will set their price by the camera and not pay too much attention to the $400 lens and the $600 flash in the bag.

thanks guys, I did try craigslist with no luck.....also watching ebay but the descriptions are very misleading on most of them.

Since the d3100 requires af-s lenses your used options are limited. Keh and ebay are your best bets.

What are you looking for? You can also post in the buy and sell section here at this forum.

Unless he doesn't mind manual focusing. AF-d lens will still meter. Or a manual ais lens and a light meter.

Thanks for the info guys. I don't mind manual focus. I'm looking for a good all around lens, besides the 18-55 that came with it. I have 2 Quantaray w/Nikon mounts from my old Nikon fg. I haven't tried either though. I guess I'm a bit leery to pop them on. One is a 2.8 135mm telephoto, and the other is a 4.0 80-200mm Macro.

Ok, so you don't want to spend a lot of money and you want a decent all around lens. I submit you already have one in your 18-55, that is not a bad lens. You already have a couple of other lenses that give you some longer focal length options. The two Quantaray lenses you mention will fit nicely on your camera, if they functioned in auto mode on your FG they will not hurt your D3100, but you will have to focus manually. The 135 f2.8 could be pretty sweet, and it would be nice if Nikon had an f/4 80-200 for a bit less money than the f/2.8 variants.

Just use the lenses you have for a bit and see where that takes you.
