To the first explanation AND the "so you use nuclear powered light" remark. . . .
LOL - my bad. I was just getting a higher than average number of rude responses I assumed that was another one. You know what they say about assuming. My apologies.
@gryphonslair -
So you just use nuclear powered light?
what is it with you people being rude to the new girl? I meant I don't just have them and not want to use them. Had I not said that, I knew I would get the response "just use this particular type of lighting."
But since you asked, I do live near a plant they used to make nuclear weapons in the 50s. . . so you never know, I might.
Perhaps a little explanation is in order.
Nuclear powered lights = The sun.
What Is Solar Energy (how does the Sun work)?
As for tirediron's "
Really." It is a clickable link. If you had clicked on it, the link rather humorously would have taken you to a vast wealth of information that you seek. It would be helpful for you and most of the newbies to understand that unlike what you were taught in school, there are stupid questions in this world. Those questions are ones that are posed when someone has made no apparent effort to learn about something for themselves. There was obviously a lot of information available as apparent from tirediron's link.
A question of clarification in this forum will rarely elicit such responses as you have taken offense too. Something along the line of, "Ok, I have been reading on using reflectors along with natural light for portraits. Would I be better served to use a single large reflector, or a couple of smaller reflectors?" Such a question indicates that you have some knowledge and are looking to refine your skills rather than wanting someone to pour you a bowl of knowledge. Requesting a bowl of knowledge with no apparent effort on the questioner's part will rarely cause it to get sprinkled with sugar.
I'll admit it, I have no idea how the sun works, nor do I care to know how the sun works. It powers our lives, that's all I need to know. That, and obviously, it's nuclear.
As for tidieron's link, I did not KNOW it was a link. It did not look like a link on my end so I did not try to click it. Maybe I will, now.
Third, if you have a problem with my post, don't reply to it. The fact is, I DON'T have some knowledge or skills to refine and I DID attempt to do my own work and research that particular subject on my own. When I couldn't find anything past "Reflectors bounce light at equal angles from other lights" I decided to ask if anyone here might have a resource for me or maybe just a bit of advice. Some did. And then, there's people like you.
I've used a ton of forums in the past 13 years, and this is definitely one of the least hospitable online communities I've ever witnessed. Not that all of you are unfriendly, because some of you have been really helpful. Regardless, I have my own online photography community to get back to where the people are nicer, and a simple "Google xyz" will suffice.
@Joealcantar,
O|||||||O,tirediron (my apologies), kundalini, Mike, etc, thanks for the links and bits of advice and generally not being rude.
To anyone else, peace.
