Thanks for the feedback Ken, I appreciate it. Yes, the bright area in the lower left corner was a concern and I did darken it a bit during post. I think it doesn't need any more darkening, but I might still try and play with the sliders to see if I can make it work without reaching the point in which starts looking fake. Cropping is out of the question, thoughI've been looking at this since you posted it, but haven't commented because something was bothering me. I just figured out what it was, namely that my eye is drawn to the bright areas in the lower left corner and spends a lot of time down there, which I'm pretty sure is not what you want. I love the house and the trees and the general composition but just find myself too distracted to really get drawn in the way I should. I'd suggest cropping, but the entire tree coming out of that corner seems important to the composition as is the shadow along the bottom. Selective darkening in a high-contrast area like that is tricky, but you wouldn't have to make the bright areas dark per se, but just a little darker than they are now. Well, there it is for whatever it's worth. Stay warm up there!
If you can't darken the lower left corner, can you brighten the house itself, to shift the visual balance over a bit? I also don't think cropping would work.
I like this image alot, regardless.
But... I don't get the screaming trees reference in the title?

Very cool, thank you!I seriously hardly ever dig black and white photos, but this is perfection. I love it!
That, and the fact that I've always wanted to steal that band's name and use it as a title. The trees look angry, jumping towards the house....screaming. =)
Thank you!works for me as it is.
Thanks!Amazing capture.
