Very old pot

A very old coffee/tea pot brought over here from England by my late grandmother about 40 years ago.
I don't do a lot of still photography so any comments and suggestions are welcome.

Interesting subject. Haven't seen anything like that before. My only negatives are that as a composition it seems cramped at the top and bottom. The other thing has to do with light and background on the bottom of the pot. When I first looked at the image I thought the bottom was actually a reflection. Maybe raising the pot slightly with a block underneath would give more seperation??

Bottom separates ok in Photoshop but I might tend to tone it down for printing's sake. My critique is that you have a rectangular object in a square format and it doesn't work so well for me...If you have room in the original, you might try adding a bit to the left to give the spout "lookout" room and some off the top just because.

Thank you smoke 665 and bulldurham for your comments. Very helpful suggestions that I will surely try.

I had also done a couple closer up shots of this 200 year old kettle. More for showing the construction details than any artistic value.

I put a small flashlight inside the kettle for effect on this one.
