Veterans Day Memorial Ceremony (C&C)

On Veterans Day, an addition to a Veterans Memorial was unveiled. Here are a couple shots. Feedback appreciated.

I assume this is a more journalistic thing?

I'd prefer to see more of the front of people's faces. All your shots are either from the side or the back and in none of them do I see the subject's eyes, so I have a total disconnect from the scene. While its nice to have them look at the camera, having a shot where they are not looking can be very powerful, but it is still nice to see the eyes or front of faces.

I guess if the theme of the event is a bunch of people standing and staring, then you nailed it. I would of liked to get in a bit closer to the subjects to built more of a rapport or something.

Thanks for the feedback. You are right that the mood of the event was somber and reflective, so that's what I was trying to capture, for better or worse.

Not really exciting and full of energy.
