Veteran's Luncheon

I am a military wife and had the privilege of photographing a Luncheon put on for the veteran's on our post. Here are a couple pictures of the NSA Color Guards presenting the colors. Let me know what you think.

I guess the guys there in the back of the line are not as important, because they are not in focus?

Backs of heads are less than compelling.

In the last, it almost look like some of the guys are being punished, or the guy with the rifle is looking the wrong way.

Exposure wise they are fine, though the lighting is a bit flat. Composition and DoF wise they have some issues.

#1 is ok.. although better DOF and lighting would have helped the shot. looks underexposed

#2 what is the subject? I can't tell.... it could be a comparison of uniform types.. but you can only really see two well ..

#3 way too tight on the crop. If your subject was the flag and the guy in the white hat, you should have moved to the left to get the guy with the rifle out of the way... and then shot / cropped to emphasize the chosen subject.

Light is flat also.. colors are not vivid, or sharp.

In #1 I would prefer to see the first man in sharp focus not the second. I agree that a greater DOF was in order.

Always great photos in my opinion. I have had some past relatives on some different sides of my family serve in the different branches. THEY DESERVE THE HONOR! If it wasn't for these fine men and women were would all of us be today? THANK YOU for your help honoring them and THANK YOU TO YOUR HUSBAND FOR HIS SERVICE! There are too many service members who don't even get a simple thank you by people these days and that is sad. I saw two service members in uniform at the gas station a block from my residence this summer, I said Thank You to them and they said for what? I told them for their service to our country. All of a sudden 5 more people standing around thanked them and kept going from there. Thank You again to you and your family.
