First attempt at B&W. Love the atmosphere I've seen in other peoples work, and want to achieve it myself. Feedback would be lovely!

You're doing fine! #1 is my pick of this group due to human interest.

#2 the figure in the shadows is not prominent enough to be a vital part of the exposure, therefore is more distracting than helpful.

In #2, I wish the central pier was straighter.

#3 looks a little off plumb as well.

Overall, a very nice selection.

To me, #2 is the most interesting - the composition is very effective - but I agree about the figure in the dark. If you have a raw file to work with you could bring up the brightness of the figure just a bit. You could of course do this with a jpg file as well, but the results would be better from a raw file.

Thanks for the comments. I haven't actually been shooting raw yet. This is my first DSLR, just got it about a week ago. I do have access to lightroom, so I might give it a try.
