views From Ivinghoe Beacon

I keep going back to this place to shoot it and I'm still not totally happy with the results but I am getting closer to what I'm after I think. Here are my latest two efforts from the area.

(*gasp*) Beautiful shots, Mo!!!!! The colour of the fields is fantastic! And of course the backlit clouds. Of the two, I think I prefer the second one because the gently rolling fields just really fascinate me...I love the long shadows cast by the small trees in the bottom right corner, the 'lines' through the fields, and the road and bigger trees in the foreground. Really really really love that shot!!

What program are you using for your HDR's? There's virtually no noise in any of yours!

Nice shots indeed. I know what you mean about going back to a location to get the shot you're after. At least you live close to the beacon so you can get there often.
I like #2 most. It is the more beautiful...but I really like the foreground texture in #1.

Both are amazing What I want to know is how can you get that kind of shot without blowing the sky out due to the high sun?I have been trying this kind of shot for a while.

Thanks a lot for your very kind comments everyone. Chris82, it's a combination of 3 shots, each 2 stops apart, combined in Photomatix and worked on in Photoshop. That way you can expose for the shadows, highlights and midtones all at once
