VOIGTLANDER film problem.

I recently bought a 1937 BESSA. I wanted to test it so I loaded it with a roll of KODAK TRI-X and upon advancing the film no numbers appeared in the red windows. There was no mask in the camera. Are KODAK backing paper numbers arranged differently than ILFORD?
