VR equivelant lens...

does anyone know if anyone other than nikon makes a VR type lens with th 70-300 range. i can only see the sigma oing to 200mm

When is "Vibration Reduction" =VR not VR?

I'll assume that you're not interested in my EF 70-300mm f/4-5.6 IS USM or the 70-300 DO model with "Image Stabilization" = IS

Tamron calls theirs "Vibration Compensation" = VC.
18-270mm F/3.5-6.3 Di-II VC
28-300mm F/3.5-6.3 Di VC

Sigma calls theirs "Optical Stabilization" = OS.
18-250mm F3.5-6.3 DC OS HSM
80-400mm F4.5-5.6 OS
120-400mm F4.5-5.6 OS HSM

VR/IS/OS/whatever you call it is a very complicated and hard system to develop. Very few 3rd party vendors offer this because of cost and complexity.
