I would like to see more of the color of light ... this is too monochrome for the subject.

Crop out the beach and sky ... panoramic format.

James, I would go with that crop, it would improve this shot big time.
As for the conversion, it's spot on for me. Great tones used here and it suit the scene perfectly IMO :thumbup:

Love the photo! I agree with the crop suggestion, but other than that I think it's beautiful!
