Normally I wouldn't like the busy background, but in this case, I think it sort of works. I wish however, that you'd used a little fill light on the child to reduce the dynamic range and preserve the highlights. All in all, nicely captured.

Thanks, tirediron. I brought up the whole body and did some light brushing on the face, but I'm afraid of butchering the tones in the face. In general where it pertains to facial tones, I'm having a hard time finding a balance of pleasing contrast and even illumination. I'll keep at it. Thanks again.

Sweet! That expressive look in her eyes is the perfect focal point and you've captured it beautifully. The little bobby pin accentuates so nicely. I think tirediron's suggestion is a good one - just don't lose that splendid contrast between her face outline and the bright background. I wouldn't make any other changes.

great shot. i love that the carpet and the couch behind it with the white light makes everything looks soft.
i would have changed the contrast on the face to be more mild , to fit the whole "white" look.
