Wakeley Lake

This is a quite unique fishing lake in Northern Michigan, about which I have been hired to write a feature-length article for a fly fishing magazine. A buddy and I went up on the last day that it was open for fishing last year, and wouldn't you know it was socked in with fog when we got there. I went ahead and took some photos anyway. These got a lot of "nice shots" on Facebook and such like, so I thought I'd see what the more knowledgeable folks on here thought of them.

I think those are some nice pictures The lake and sky make a great background for the fisher and his boat.

I think you may have made it a little bit stronger if the fisher would by a bit lower and a bit more to the left in the picture, not so in the middle/on the horizon. That would make the fog as well as the picture itself a little stronger.

Thank you everyone for the feedback. Matthias, I will try your suggestion re: composition - I think you're right that that would make it a stronger picture.

.. folks on here thought of them.

#1 shows the overall effect of the fog, but since there is no action at that time, it is rather dull.

#2 Finally a hit!, however in that shot we don't see his face, so IMO they're not great photos.
