walk around lens - help

Hi there
I bought nikon D90 recently with 50mm f1.8 lens and I need wald around lens now. I was thinking about nikon 18-105 VR lens but there is also 18-70mm and 18-138mm. Could you lelp me decide what to get please? I know that 18-105 has VR facility but 18-135 has better range. I'm getting confused now and I need your opinion. I wand to get lens that will perform nice.
The 18-200mm VR is too expensive for me (just to tell you).

The Nikon 18-70 is one of the better mid-range, consumer-grade zooms. It has a metal mount, unlike many, and has good overall optical performance (for it's price point) because it doesn't try and do too much. The more range crammed into a single lens, the poorer the overall quality is likely to be.

im not a nikon user...but i was under the impression that the vr was one of the nikons better lenses....but like i said im not sure on that
