In my opinion, it's hard to beat Sepia for this shot (although I cropped it as well because the front path was distracting and rotated it to make it level):

Of the "Generic PS effects", I'm partial to the Auto Color + Diffuse Glow combination:

Ooh that last one is lovely. Wish I had photoshop skills. Mine don't go much further than cropping and boosting contrast.
