Was trying for short lighting

I am struggling really badly with knowing or being able to do short lighting versus broad lighting. What should I have done differently here. I was trying for short lighting.

Not bad. I think technically this qualifies as short lighting since the shadowed side of the face is closer to the camera, BUT.. her head position with respect to the light is such that there really isn't a lot of shadow.
