This is my second full on attempt at it, and i must say, i came out with a much higher percentage of keepers this time. The setup was relatively simple. Comments and critiques please?

looking good, the only thing i would change is adding a different color on the background so it gives it a nice contrast with the green.i like the first one.

That is so cool, I want to try that now.

Nice job........change it up and put something colorful in the background.

Yes, you are narrowing in on the shots.

If you're consistently getting crown shots, try squeezing the water bag to force more flow out. This will definitely change the drop effect. Be mindful to use a light touch though, because otherwise, you will lose your focused spot. You may also consider rotating to portrait orientation.

Instead of direct bare flash, try having your flash pointed at a bounce board to diffuse the light back to the splashes. You may even want to have a strip of plastic wrap between the bowl and flash to prevent any potential splatter on the flash. This will add another layer of diffused light.

If you're intent on using food coloring, try having the bowl and the bag with different/contrasting colors. It won't last as long because it will eventually turn the bowl water to yuck.

Thanks for sharing.

The flashes were each pointed at the backdrop/background, not at the droplet itself. But thanks for your comments. I will definitely keep trying.

It's amazing that such an unattractive set-up can yield such beautiful results.

Thanks for your posts. I tried doing it today using your setup. I used Xmas paper for the background.
