Water Droplets - SPLASH!

This is my first attempt at shooting water droplets. I added interest to the drops by using a variety of liquids. The liquid in the pan, however, is only water. What do you like, and what needs improving? Any input is welcome.

The first one is simply amazing. I would not change a thing. More light might seem the obvious answer, but then, it might lose the ethereal feel this has.

I'm really digging these. I'm a sucker for water drop shots anyway but these really stand out. Nice work. I like the lack of color like you see in so many of them. Don't get me wrong, I like the colors too, but this is different than that and that's a good thing.

Love the ripples in 3, so smoooooth... I like the neutral colors in these as well, but getting crazy with the colors can be a ton of fun too.. I had my toddler niece just skribble with a bunch of markers on a white sheet of tagboard and used it as a background to bounce the flash off of and it came out lookin pretty cool

Next time you could possibly try a lower angle, that can produce quite an interesting perspective.

the captures are awesome. have these been cropped down? a little more in some of the shots would almost look better.
ie. #3 is cut off with the tower.

I thought the same too, but they just didn't look as good brighter.

I bounced the flash off a white board at water level to achieve shadows. Next time, I use a hood to prevent the light from bouncing up. I tried shooting at a lower angle as well. Unfortunately, I did not have an attractive background, so I made the best of it!

#2 was leveled
#3 + #4 are not cropped

I didn't crop 3 and 4 because I like the mellowing of the water at the distant ripples. I was definitely tempted to crop them though!

I'm having trouble choosing a favorite to upload to flickr. Any help?
