So for Christmas I got the nifty fifty f1.8 Canon lens for my 500D. Here a few of the first images I've taken with it. I
must stress wildlife photography isn't my usual thing but, well, I can't not take these cos they were sitting ducks. Pun intended.

Congratulations on your new lens.

Picture #1, the detail in the white feathers seems blown out. It's a difficult thing to get right, believe I know 1st hand. Picture #2: I really like the natural setting, and it's well composed. Picture #3: composition just seems off to me with the Duck slightly off to one side. Picture #4 is cropped to tight, and there is to much background to deal with. You also cut off the tip of the peak on the Duck at the left. I Would have preferred this in landscape. That would have solved keeping the ducks more in the frame, moved up some as well, and thus decreasing so much background.
