Watermarking Photographs with a Graphic using Photoshop?

Hello! I have recently created a new logo that is not just text, but also includes a small graphic. I have saved it as a .png and .jpeg, as well as created a paintbrush with it. However, I cannot seem to get the logo the same size on all of my photographs. It is also often blurry. I can only seem to batch process photos with a watermark if it is text only, so this will not work with my logo. Does anyone have advice on how to get a graphic logo the same size on all photos?

Your photos are probably all different sizes. I would start off with creating your logo in illustrator and then saving it as a pdf and bringing it over to ps to watermark with. Even then, if your photos are all different sizes, the logo will be a different on each of the sizes; however, if you use the method above, you won't get any blur.

Saving it to a pdf? Why would you need to do that? If the file was created in illustrator when you attempt to open it in photoshop it will ask you if you want to convert it for photoshop.

Unless all the photos you are putting it on have the same pixel dimensions it will be different sizes on each one.

As for why it is sometimes blurry what is the resolution of the logo you created? If you put a low res logo onto a hi res image is is definitely going to look blurry.

The reason it was sieges ted that you use illustrator to create the logo is because it works in vectors which means you can make it as big or as small as you want and it will always look sharp.

Web designers or ad designers are going to want the original hi res file not a pdf. Pdf's are best for final delivery and not the best thing for when the graphics are going to need resizing.

Interesting, I use Lr for my exporting and just noticed that the export dialog for Bridge doesn't have the watermarking option that Lr does. I created a watermark in Ps and then saved the file. Then I used it to set up a watermark preset for exporting images from Lr. If you have Lr that is a quick and easy way to do it.

I actually don't own Illustrator, so that is out! I have Lightroom and Photoshop. The resolution of the logo I created is: 204 pixels/inch.

Are you trying to resize it and add it in Ps?

I just checked, my watermark file is a .png that is 3600x2400px. Lr seems to have no problems resizing it and it comes out sharp every time, granted when I export for web it's always the same size.:blushing:

Yup that would be the reason for it looking blurry on some images. Putting that on a hi res photos you logo is ether going to be really small pr it's going to be blurry when you enlarge it.

I would start over and make a much higher res version.
