Wave Catchers

And by Wave Catchers I mean me catching the waves, right on my face and such.

This was an action-packed scene. More than I was expecting, actually. Typically in the summer months the ocean is pretty calm. Not this day.

The surf forecast called for 5ft waves. These were easily 8ft.

It took about 30 minutes of prep time just to get all my gear waterproof. When I finally had things ready I got up on one of the many large coastal rocks, pointed my camera north, and tried to capture the action. I got doused 4-5 times in the process. You can kind of see that, in the foreground. It wasn't all that fun really.

I had my camera in a full rain jacket. I had a rain jacket myself. But I still got soaked.

These were not fun shooting conditions. Would not recommend .

Maybe a little more intensity in the colors to heighten the drama.

I am not feeling the crop on this one R. I feel I am missing something. Why don't you invest in some waterproof housing and save yourself some time silly, especially since you shoot in these conditions often.

I agree. I think a vertical comp would suit this better. What do you all think?
