I actually like the fact that they aren't centered. It makes the image more appealing to me .... Eye of the beholder!

It looksl like there is a tiny perspective issue that you may want to correct.

Also, he looks like he's considering eating her face. Sort of weird.

EDIT: BTW, this would make a lovely sepia b/w.

I love the shot, and maybe im just nitpicking here...but i personally would have liked this shot better if the back end of her dress was not sticking out on the other side of the column. otherwise, it is framed up nicely.

Thanks for the comments. Eye of the beholder and so on. I did think about photoshopping the end of the dress behind the pillar, but due to time constraits I had to leave it there. Sometimes a less perfect photo can also be more interesting.

As for perspective I doubt it. It's shot with 85mm prime. The pillars are curved and the shelfs behind the couple were bit wonky, them and the building being rather old and all that.

It was interesting to shoot it. Ambient light was from fluorescent lights and daylight, so I had to keep shutter speed at 50th of a second. I did use tripod for this one, but 1.4 aperture and D800 is a combination that makes me bite my nails sometimes although it wasn't really an issue with this setup.

Nice. I rather like their expressions. Looks like they're about to tango, or fight (is there even a difference?), very punchy.

Is that a law library? All those identical bindings kind of weird me out a bit.

The columns strike me as very bright. Have you experimented with darkening them a trifle?

Hello,

Good point about the columns. It's a national library (literal translation of the name). Mostly filled with older finnish books but also books from other countries. If I would have had time I could have easily spend two days photographing there, the place is a treasure. Unfortunately it's usually only open for study and reading not photography.
