Hey Photo Forum peoples!

I'm looking to add to my lens bag and I'm torn between a few lenses.
My bag currently has the:
Canon 85mm 1.8
Canon 17-40mm f/4 L
Rokinon 8mm f/3.5

Now here's my situation. I have a budget of about $2500 and don't know if I should get the
Canon 24-70mm f/2.8 AND the Sigma 50mm 1.4
OR
the Canon 70-200mm f/2.8 IS II
Also, does the IS really make THAT much of a difference in wedding photography, or can I settle for the f/2.8 none IS?

I'm looking to start doing some more wedding photography and I know the 70-200 is one of the most popular for that, but would I get more options with the other 2 lenses instead?

Maybe another alternative is the 35f1.4 and 135f2 both are very fast and very sharp. But between the two selections I would pick the 70-200 f2.8 II IS.

24-70mm L f2.8 and the 50mm L f1.8 were the two main lenses used in my wedding and I have to say the Photos came out awesome....

"IS" is for important if your hand holding your camera when you shoot weddings, remember you only get one shot to shoot a very important moment in your clients lives, so don't purchase a lense without IS because you don't get to shoot photos again if your photos come out blurry.

Do you have a full frame body?

opps sorry thought he said it was an L. I know most of the information because he is a good friend who cut me one hell of a deal on the job....basicly at cost for the quality of his work I think I made out like a bandit....

My perfect combo would be 2 fullframes, 70-200mm f/2.8L IS, 35mm f/1.4L. Other lenses will just stay in the bag most of the time.

That was with the 50mm f/1.2, which isn't a $100 bargain bin lens, like the f/1.8 model.

Stop worrying about lenses so much ;pro's use all kinds. I personally don't like primes for weddings.

Whatever trips your trigger.

That is seriously scary looking Photoshop work, and the negative space on the left seriously weakens the image.

I shoot Nikon and the majority if my work comes from weddings. Here's my body/lens combos:

2 - D300 bodys
Nikon 17-55 2.8ED
Nikon 70-200 2.8ED
Nikon 50mm 1.4G
Nikon 85mm 1.4G

2 - Nikon SB900 speedlites

I have other Nikon lenses but those are even more than I need with weddings!

The 70-200 is my favorite! lol
