Wedding shots in the Sherlock room.

Still editing a few from a wedding a few weeks ago. The room these were shot in they called the Sherlock Holmes room because all of the decor was based on the character. Anyway, nothing to over the top but thought they would be fun considering. C&C is greatly appreciated but specifically looking for feedback on exposure and posing.

I like the posing in the first one, but I think that you could have ditched the Union Jack table and tightened the crop to get rid of some of the blinds, the smoke detector and the table.

Two is a little odd. They're a little too disconnected from each other which shouldn't happen in a wedding shoot like this. You want to connect both of them, which you did well in the first one.

Technically speaking, I think that the flash is a little harsh. It looks like you either shot the camera-right flash bare of from a very small soft box/umbrella. Would have been nice tow hoot through me umbrella or bounce it off a wall/ceiling.

Exposure is good and focus too, but you could have maybe benefitted from opening up a little to throw the blinds out of focus.

my thoughts of posing....and it is JMO!

In the first bride is better posed then the groom (body), but she should be slightly leaned towards you.
The groom is kind of asking you "is this better", and just putting his hand on her shoulder doesn't say nothing about two of them. they're disconnected and obviously posed. We should see more of him.
With the bride, or women it is always "chin down" not chin up. And look how his head is better looking because of chin down, tilted a bit.
Also I would never take the photo of them with this angle, it is not flattering for them. I would shoot slightly above because of theirs body types.

The second photo. Also non flattering angle, don't shoot straight forward especially with their body types.

The point is that you should pose woman in a way to create and accentuate curves on her body.

I think this would have benefited more bounced flash vs off camera flash. I don't know what your modifier was but my guess it was small or far away. I like the first one.

For thanks for the feedback. Everyone is right that I used a small modifier with OCF to the right although it wasn't far away. I didn't bounce because I was going for a particular look and obviously couldn't get it...I figured I should've shot from above due to their size. The bride kept putting her chin up even though I told her several times to not do that it just looks odd in the photos but I think he believed it made her look thinner. It was frustrating. Thanks again for the feedback!
