Was out camping last weekend and got these birds. The only one I know for sure is the Bluebird, the others?? I have a bird book but couldn't locate the others.

#1 looks like some sort of Vireo
#4 is a Baltimore Oriole

I take that back - #4 is not right. There is some stuff missing for it to be a BO. Hm. I'm interested to see what others come up with!

I'm breaking every internet rule today. More searching tells me it's an American Redstart. Very cool!

Yep, American Redstart on #4. Very cool; never seen one before!

1. Some kind of flycatcher. I'm not too good at those. Maybe an Eastern Phoebe? Or a Willow Flycatcher? Possibly an Eastern Wood Peewee. They all look so much alike, and I haven't got time to really examine the differences right now.
2. A thrush, for sure. Hermit Thrush, I think.
3 and 4 We've already established.
5. Gray Catbird. Just saw my first of these about a month ago.

Some really nice photos of them!

Nice collection, I agree with Sharon, but maybe a least flycatcher.. always get confused with the phoebes? Captures seem to be in record numbers up here for some reason.. but excellent collection!

Only one we have close to what you have there and its still a guess not knowing what you have, the second one is very similar to our Basian Thrush, the rest, you are on your own :) :) Sharon seems to have nailed them though.

That first one with the subtle colours is downright cute !! That is a gorgeous little one. Looked at all these at the larger version and I don't think you need C&C at all to be honest. All wonderful shots and the colours are great to see. Excellent shots and work.

All the best and nice exposure and comps IMO.

Danny.

Hey thanks everyone for the help, its always fun to go some where new capture new things, ya know?

Oh yeah, Least Flycatcher is a good choice...except they usually have a fairly pronounced eye ring, I think. I keep coming back to either Eastern Phoebe or Wood Peewee here. It doesn't look like it's got the crest of the Peewee, but it might just be smoothed down.

Let's just call it a Flycatcher sp. (that's Bird language for "some kinda flycatcher") :lmao:

There are few thrills in bird photography like finding a new bird!
Yesterday afternoon, I wasn't feeling well, so I just sat out in my yard for a while. I saw a mockingbird fly up into a tree, but something made me wonder about it. Took a picture, but it was mostly hidden behind a branch. Later, just as I was about to quit and go inside, I finally saw my "mockingbird" again and realized why it had seemed odd--it was a Gray Catbird! I've seen them before, but it was another first for my yard.
