Not sure if I got the wabi, the sabi or neither.

I saw these ladies in a diner this morning, and I immediately thought of this week's challenge. I saw "the beauty in imperfection, the grace of aging, and the value of experience." The second one is my favorite; the thoughtful look on the woman at center seems to freeze the scene in time, rather than just catching one instant, if that makes any sense. Both with my iPhone 7+

When I read the definition of Wabi Sabi, I knew immediately this was the perfect object.

This is Granny's walking stick. I have it now. When Granny had it, she carried it, used it, for hundreds - if not thousands of miles.

Gramps was an avid fisherman. Only dry fly fishing on small streams for wild trout. Up and down the trails in the remote Sierra wilderness, days on end, until they were in their 90's! Gramps would be on the stream while Granny hiked around, digging in bushes and flipping rocks with her walking stick. She found arrowheads and artifacts and interesting rocks for Gramps to carry home.

I don't know how many years Granny had this stick, but I remember it when I was little. When I hold it I can feel the smoothness of all those miles worn into the perfect shape - and I can feel her hand.

My last contribution for this week, the coming 4 days it will be very, very, very hot in Western Europe, 108 °F and even higher, so (mandatory) relaxation as advised by the government. As a heart patient it's currently a little too hot for me.

Sure, it looks so charming and innocent, but I'm not fooled. They're up to something. Look at this photo while playing the audio from the coffee shop scene in Reservoir Dogs. Fits perfectly.

I wish to acknowledge this was conceived and inspired by zulu42's wonderful post concerning his grandparents' possessions.
This is my father's pocketknife and my maternal grandfather's Morlite cigarette lighter. The knife has had many alterations to it's original form, including a replaced blade, physical changes to both blades because of being dropped and tips being broken, as well as missing the visible handle because of being dropped. Yes, it has been abused and well used. The lighter was carried by my grandpa and certainly used daily. It is my only personal item from him and cherished dearly. The chrome has been worn away and reveals the brass underneath in probably 80% of the body and lid. It is stained with soot from the flame and use, but is perfect in my sentimentality.
