The modern day version goes in your cell phone, not on paper. When I was trying to take the picture of my phone I accidentally hit dial at 10:30 in the evening, hung up quick. They say when this song first came out people with that number had a lot of grief. If you have never seen this music video, I suggest you watch it till the end to get the whole story.

Many years ago I worked in consumer customer service at “the phone company” and that number was flagged in our system with a note that said something like do not give out due to the popular song. People would sometimes request the number.
