Looking for a place to get some criticism and make myself better. I'm a noob obviously so i wanna know what i did right & what i did wrong.

Hi and welcome to TPF.
Can you maybe post something with less then 80% of total black ?
This picture is what it is; a night shot of a street. Automatic exposure gave you couple of highlights right, but the rest drowns in the darkness. Looks like you used a cross filter or front element was a bit greasy.

Longer exposure, smaller aperture and drop your ISO to 100.

the ISO was 400, f/29, and 30 second exposure. The grain was added in post processing. and if i can recall i also underexposed it too in PP to enhance that "drown in the darkness" look. i guess i'm the only one that likes that hahahaha oh well

I like how theigjt does the 6 point star thing (I got a picture of the sun doing this once and I enjoyed the result) also the ground has a wet look...the one thing I did not like was the graininess, and I figured it was because you had high ISO, but after reading, I realized that you put that in pp, is it possible to post up what it looked like before grain was added?

Well, that or have some foreground subject of interest, or have some secret reward there for looking into the shadows.

If the subject is the houses, then you missed because they're lost in the murk.
And looking close doesn't reveal any reward for the effort.
And there's no other candidate subject, except for the 6star light, but it not a strong enough subject to carry the composition.

At least to my taste. And I like very dark (and very white) frames. I love to see how lopsided I can get the histogram and still get a meaningful image.

it seems whenever i look at the photo my eyes are funneled towards the spot of light on the road caused by the streetlight. it reminds me of an empty stage.
