Since acquiring my D800, I've been slowly swapping out my lens system. So far, it's gone from:

Tokina 11-16/2.8 (which I miss dearly)
Sigma 18-50/2.8
Nikon 50/1.8D
Nikon 80-200/2.8D (2-ring)
Sigma 180/3.5 Macro
Nikon 300/4 AF-S

to:

Nikon 17-35mm F/2.8
Nikon 50/1.8G
Sigma 85mm F/1.4
Nikon 80-200/2.8D (2-ring)
Sigma 180/3.5 Macro
Nikon 300/4 AF-S

I've had the pleasure of playing around with a 135/2 AF on my D800, and I must say, I love the lens. I have been looking at it for a while, and it lived up to my expectations of it after using it. But, I can't help but feel that someone is going to be offering up a new 135/2 or 1.8 (Nikon/Sigma) relatively soon (within a year). I don't have any evidence pushing me toward that decision besides some patents, but we all know how that goes.

So, my question to you all is: what are your predictions and projections concerning a 135/2 upgrade?

I have been dying to try that lens out, but unfortunately it isn't in stock at any camera shops in the city I live in. I have heard it is great and I really love the focal length. I never really had thought much about it until I read about a few canon guys using the 135L which made me look into the nikon 135...really do hope it does get an update as it would be awesome to have! although I do hear the current version is pretty awesome...would love an update but even more so just a chance to check the current version out, lol.

I think a 135/2 or 1.8, G-series, will be here relatively soon. Who knows though, right???? SONY now has a new "Zeiss" (cough, cough,Cosina) 135/1.8 out.
