Well, since Chrome fails to process embedded ICC profiles and therefore displays all photographs incorrectly, I use Firefox. On the Mac I use Safari which, like Firefox, works correctly.

Are you referring to film photographers in 2011? If so, I haven't heard that before, and have reason to believe that you made it up for the purpose of the thread.

Regardless, I use Firefox.

At work, on my PC, I'm sometimes forced to use IE. I did finally (after 5 years of trying) convince InfoSys to let me use Firefox and Chrome as well, what with being the person who maintains both our websites, our blog and all our other social media. But they do keep it monitored and they have a fit if I use anything but IE very much. I also have a Mac at work, and I use it for most of my online stuff. Primarily Firefox, Safari once in a while. Then, at home, where I also use both a PC and a Mac, I use Firefox almost exclusively, once in a while I get on Chrome or Safari, just to mix things up a little.

I use Chrome. I'll have to compare the way it displays images to Safari because I don't think I've ever noticed a difference... that's not to say there ISN'T one... I'm just saying I never noticed, haha. Now I'm curious.

Google Chrome for basic web browsing, facebook, youtube, TPF, etc, just for it's slick looks and simplicity.

Firefox for when I need to do some work on my website, I just like it better for that.

Only Firefox, whether at work on a PC or at home on a Mac. It just works better and more easily for me than either IE or Safari.

Really? As I understand it, the "Inspect Element" feature in Chrome is much better than any Firefox Addon you can get (Like Firebug). It's my understanding that you can edit CSS/HTML while inspecting an element to see how it would change the appearance, or placement. As a way to fine tune your code before you upload it via FTP. I figured that would be more useful to a web programmer or interface producer. What do you prefer about Firefox for making changes on your website if I might ask?

An RGB-JPEG photo is tagged with an ICC profile that references the color space. To properly display the photo's colors the RGB values must be decoded using the referenced color space, for example sRGB. Chrome ignores the ICC profile and as a result displays photos incorrectly. The underlying assumption is that photos for the web should be tagged sRGB as opposed to some other color space and then it's OK to display them and ignore the profile. There's some validity to this in that sRGB was created to be a good match to electronic displays. The difference in appearance may be minor, but ignoring a photo's ICC profile really is wrong; the profile is there for a reason. If you really want to check out the issue:

I used to use Opera. Can't recall why i stopped. I like that Chrome's address bar is also basically google search. Also the select text + right-click to google it in Chrome is great!
