This is getting off of my original topic, but since you brought it up, can you elaborate on how "implied nude" is ambiguous? I'm only aware of one meaning for that term. Thanks.
JoeW, pretty much nailed the ones that get debated over.
If you break it down. Implied means essentially "not outright stated but hinted at." So an implied nude "should" mean hinted at being nude. So for instance a model with a sun hat in front of her chest. Is she wearing a bikini top or not? The usage though varies. Take what Joe described as a demure nude (image of a model totally nude, pretty much obviously so, and her hands or pose is covering her breasts. It's obvious she is wearing nothing unless potentially some small pasties). some will call this a nude and some call it implied.
Which is right? Like I said before it does not matter. Debate it as much as you want for sun on the net... but unless you want to debate the definition with each client it's so much easier to assume your definitions are quite likely going to be different on at least one point and thus to send sample images that clearly depict what you are attempting.
