what's the best way to sling it for carrying it around?

I don't have the upper body strength I used to, so I alternate carrying it between left and right arm; it can get heavy on a long day. I usually don't let it hang on the strap, because it bounces too much. My Sigma and Canon are about five pounds in weight combined.
