I am looking for a book to learn more about lighting techniques. Using flash and natural light. Any recommendations?

The basics of lighting are covered very well in this book: Light Science and Magic, An Introduction To Photographic Lighting, Fourth Edition

The first half of the book covers the technical details of lighting, like the 'family of angles'. The second half of the book covers lighting for portraiture

All light is natural light, and is exactly the same thing - photons - the basic unit of light.

A mistake many make when using ambient or available light is not having a good grounding in lighting styles so they can use the available light as a key (main), fill, second, kicker, rim, or hair light. To often they assume 'natural' lghting is easy peezy.

It's not because the photographer has so much less control over ambient/available light than they do over constant or strobed (flash) light.

One of the big bennies accorded by using strobed light is the ability, with a single shutter release, to control the ambient light exposure separately from the strobed light exposure in the same scene.

Check out the videos by Zack Arias of the One Light Blog and David Hobby of the Strobist Blog for some good resources to help you get started quickly.
