What is the next lens you want to buy ?

Bought a new lens only few days ago, still in the honeymoon phase

I didn't even thought of getting it and there I have it, funny how things work in life.
I don't really think currently I need another lens and have no plans to get one anytime soon but if you would ask me 2 weeks ago I would probably tell you the same thing so I always take these statements of mine with a grain of salt.
I guess if I really tried hard maybe I would like Nikon 28mm 1.8G but honestly that's just a nice idea but I don't really need it.

Well going to be a bit before my next lens, should have enough saved for the D7100 upgrade next payday so will most likely be a bit before I go lens shopping again, and most likely I'll be getting a 1.4x teleconverter for use with the 70-200 mm F/2.8 first. After that I'll most likely be looking for something with in the serious telephoto arena. Right now I'm looking at both the Sigma 150-500 and the new Tamron 150 - 600 mm as possible candidates.

The Sony 135mm 1.8
Tamron 150 - 600mm
Sony 70 - 400 SSM 2

Hum...I'm happy with my gear set up but I wouldn't turn down a Nikon 300mm 2.8 or 400mm 2.8 if I had the extra cash and found a deal on one.

I'm pretty happy with what I have but depending on how it is once released, I'm looking seriously at the new Sigma 50mm f1.4....thats really the one I'm most likely to get....some that I'm interested in would be a 24 f1.4 (kindof waiting on the possible Sigma version to get released to compare before going with what is currently offered), a 300 f4 would be fun (either AF or AFS), a Samyang 14mm f2.8 is a possiblity (or Zeiss 15mm f2.8 if the used market had some at a good price), and a Defocus Control lens would be fun (105 or 135) but I don't really think I'd use it enough to justify the purchase.

Well my Tamron 150-600 has been preordered since 12/23. In the meantime I had an impulse buy for a really cheap Sigma 28-70 F2.8 EX D. Might be crap but for $100 who cares. I pretty much only have my birds lenses, a kit lens and 2 old adaptall MF lens, so I figured a fast mid range zoom might come in handy at some point...

I'm really interested to see how it compares to the Sigma 120-300 + 2x I know over on POTN someone that has both and he thinks the Siggy is better. I'm curious to see how it performs on the D7100 also. Now that my focus motor is fixed the Siggy is playing pretty nice...


These 2 guys have some of the better samples I have seen with the Tammy though..
