I actually found an old polaroid camera in my parents room a few days ago, but it doesn't seem to have any film so i can't take any pictures sadly.. I would love to get it working again but I have no idea how to operate it.This is the polaroid camera I have.. How do I use it?

oh nice, polaroid went the wait of the dinosaur with decent digital cameras. we might have to explain to our children and kids what they where.

And yes, the film quality isn't great, and the pictures fade really fast, within a few years.

Yeah, the PQ wasn't good even at their height. They were really just convenient and "cool" at the time. Nevertheless, those are great nostalgia items (if you grew up in that time) and will definitely just be museum pieces by the time our kids are adults.

For the person asking how to use it, I am sure you can find that on YouTube. But, IIRC, it is pretty simple. You just load the cartridge and snap a picture. It comes out and you just wait a couple minutes for it to develop.

They are just the polaroid look. You can try to cross-process them in photoshop and get the same result.

ACTUALLY... those photos have a very 2013 "feel" to them in the style of Instagram.

I can absolutely assure you that our photos did NOT look like THAT in the 80's.

You've picked on perhaps one of my biggest pet peeves in modern photography... the idea that you can take a rubbish picture, post process it to make it look faded by age, and then call it art (because it's faded?)
