What kind of music do you like?

For some reason I like bands with chick lead singer like Cardigans, Cranberries, Garbage, etc.

Check out Eyes Set to Kill. They're somewhat of a hardcore band, but I think you'd like them. There's also I Wrestled a Bear Once...you would never know that they had a female singer from listening to them.

Anything but rap!

I still maintain that rap isn't actually music (I mean there might be one or two bits that might possibly count as getting near musical - but most just seems to be some beat on the music with a guy chatting about his life over the top )

You obviously haven't listened to much hip hop then.

-Pop
-Classical
-Jazz
-Rock

Anything assembled with talent, and by actual instruments.

There are genres that I like less than others, but people within those genres that warrant attention. Just don't talk into a microphone after spending 2 minutes programming a drum machine on a loop, and stealing samples of someone else's songs and call it music.
