What lens is more appropriate for Asian weddings?

I would appreciate any help and advice that can be given.

I am currently using eos 450d. I bought the 500d, but prefer using the former.

I have been taking photos as a hobby, and wish to start practising wedding photography. I am just taking a few wedding portraits and photos here and there. But would appreciate any info that can be given.

The lens I have is basically those that came as part of a lens kit - the 18-55mm is lens and ef-s 55-250mm f/4-5.6 IS.

Every ethnicity and every race has specific lenses that work for them, did you all know that?

My wedding photographer had to use two different lens types because my husband is White and I'm Puerto Rican... we had to pay her double as a result. That's hard work... remembering what lens to use for which set of families... and when she had to photograph us intermingling... oh my GOODNESS I can't even IMAGINE the headache...

A lot of multi-exposure layering and photoshop in the pictures of my husband and I together...

all kidding aside now I would look at getting a good fast 50mm or 85mm lens (f1.8) or better to help in low light situations. Do you have a flash besides the one on the camera

Well, all kidding aside...a wedding pro that I know, who works in California, has repeatedly posted on another forum that in many Asian and Asian-American cultures, it is preferable to make the bride's skin look rather pale, and almost washed-out. Apparently, among Vietnamese, Cambodian, and Laotian cultures, a bride that appears pale in the photos is the "desired look".

I wonder...Sigma lenses look very yellowish and warm compared to other brands. Color rendition is something that each lens brand tends to have. Sigma lenses are very warm,and yellow, and they do not look quite "right" if you are using Nikkor lenses mixed in. Tamron lenses are fairly cool. Tokina is a bit warmer than Tamron, but cooler than Sigma.

I would actually ask this question of some working wedding shooters who have decent experience levels in an area where there are a good percentage of Asian people from various sub-cultures. I would also be VERY wary of mixing lens brands such as Sigma and Canon at the same event.

It didn't happen, but Keith and I would have thought it to be hilarious, had it happened.
