What paper do you prefer to print on?

I just bought a Canon Pixma Pro9000 printer and am trying to decide on what paper to buy. I bought a pack of 13x19 Kodak Premium Matte paper at Staples ( I didn't expect it to be great but its the only thing I could find fast locally so that I could test the printer with a large format. ) I was thinking of possibly getting some metallic paper but not sure. The Kodak Matte definately seemed a little drab to me.

This is the wrong section to get an answer, the section is for film printing, not inkjet printing.

If you looking for metallic papers, try som Inkpress paper, Red River has a metallic paper as well.

I have the Pro9000 Mark II that I bought late last year. I ONLY print on Canon paper, and have been very pleased with the results. Printer paper, and the printer it's on does matter. Canon paper works best on Canon printers. (I'm talking pictures, not word documents).

It does very well, and prints some spectaular images.

That is usually the case because you'll have the proper profiles for the paper/ink/printer combination.

You can get good (maybe better) results if you create custom profiles for other papers. Of course, that requires a printer calibration device or service.

I also have this printer and agree 150% that on Canon paper this printer is awesome. I have printed shots that are so spectacular in color rendition that they amaze me. The only drawback to this printer and any really good photo printer is that they SUCK down ink like crazy.
