After a lot of tweaking I finally have the b&w light to dark tonal latitude I was trying to print. Now the problem switches to the printer paper.
Since I knew I would be doing a lot of cut and try, I picked up a 50 pc pack of HP 4x6 Everyday Photo Paper. It was inexpensive enough for tinkering and fine for color snap shots for the family.
Unfortunately the photo paper's base color is at best a light shade of ivory, so I cannot get the bright whites like the computer screen.
So the question is, what printer paper do you use when you want a white background?
