what soft box light would you recommend for Rebel XT for studio-type work?

Hello!

Do any of you/have any of you used a light you would recommend that's not too horribly expensive? I want to set up a small home studio, but not for professional use, just for a hobby (which is why I wouldn't want to spend thousands)
Any insight?

I'd go photogenic, bowens/calumet, dynalite, or an elinchrom d-lite personally. I hate the fact that you have to purchase all your modifiers from AlienBees if you use their lights, which aren't all that fantastic anyway and aren't even that much cheaper than comparable brands. I've said it before and I'll say it again. I don't care how many rave customer service reviews they get...I don't trust any company that uses such shady and misleading marketing terms as "effective watt-seconds."
