Why, it's a Eurasian Collared Dove standing on the skylight above my desk... I thought it made for an interesting image.

Nah, I've ID'd it as a species of the rare Horned Vole wiped out by the 1883 Krakatoa eruption. The OP is obviously sharing a rare glass plate photo shot on the eve of the disaster.

Squirels and pigeons are so popular on these forums. Almost insulting. Do you ever go up there on the roof and clean the skat off your skylight? Or do the pigeons somehow avoid the glass?
